REPORT DARK STREET LIGHTS

The street lights in our neighborhood are an essential part of our safety and security at night.  Street lights are a deterrent to crime and assist emergency vehicles to find addresses of homes in an emergency.  They also add to the safety of people walking on our sidewalks and crossing our streets at night.  All of the street lights in Shadow Ridge South are owned and maintained by CoServ Electric, not the HOA.  If you see a street light that is not working or has been damaged, please call CoServ at 1-800-566-2314 and report it.  They typically will send a crew within a week to repair the light or pole and help to keep our streets safe.

PLEASE WELCOME A NEW

MEMBER TO THE BOARD

We would like to welcome Gene Gulyas to the Shadow Ridge South board members.  He will be replacing Jason Blair who has moved out of the neighborhood and is unable to fulfill his duties.  We are thankful for the time and effort Jason gave to Shadow Ridge South.  He will greatly be missed.   Gene had run for a position at the time of our annual meeting and has continued to show interest to the board.  We would like to thank Gene for stepping in and volunteering his time.  We are looking forward to his input and ideas of ways to continue to make Shadow Ridge South a great place to live.

SPRING CURBSIDE DEBRIS

It is April and homeowners are doing all of the projects on their yards they have been waiting to do all winter such as: trimming trees, replacing fences, planting flowers, mulching, etc.  We love to see everyone so enthused about making their homes look nice and working so hard to get things done.  Please remember that bulk trash pickup is only twice a month, on the first and third Friday, unless you call for a special pickup from the Town of Flower Mound.  We would appreciate it if you would not put your piles of debris and bags on the curb until 24 hours before those pickup dates, as the Town code requires.  We have seen piles of branches and bags on curbs in our streets for weeks awaiting the pickup date and this reflects poorly on our neighborhood.

Neighborhood at a Glance

THE MOST COMMON VIOLATIONS

Please be aware that the most common violations to our neighborhood’s regulations (the covenants we all received at closing when we moved here) are:

  1. putting our trash cans in the wrong location so that they are visible from the street fronting our homes,
  2. not maintaining our fences by keeping them repaired and stained with earth tones
  3. not maintaining our lawns by mowing, edging and trimming regularly as well as weeding as needed.

Attending to these ongoing responsibilities not only keeps us in compliance with neighborhood regulations it makes us good neighbors.

EASTER EGG HUNT FUN FOR ALL

On Sunday March 16th the HOA Easter Egg Hunt was conducted at Shadow Ridge Park.  Pat Zellar once again was the Easter Bunny and started the hunt where 2,000 eggs were scooped up by the kids in less than 15 minutes.  Thanks to all who volunteered to help set up the hunt and hide the eggs.   The weather was beautiful and a hopping good time was had by all!
