COMPLIMENTS OF GALA |
IT’S TIME FOR ANOTHER ANNUAL MEETING
The Shadow Ridge South Homeowner’s Association will have our required annual meeting on Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at 7:00 PM at Flower Mound Town Hall. As usual, we will be giving the membership an update on what has happened in 2009 and presenting the budget for 2010. We have vacancies for two seats on the board of directors for one year terms. We hope that some interested homeowners will consider running for the board and helping out our neighborhood.
Our board consists of five members and we meet every two months for about an hour per meeting. We communicate by e-mail and telephone when issues come up between meetings. The HOA manager performs the inspections, pays the bills, mails letters, etc. and reports to the board. After members are elected to the board by homeowners at the annual meeting, the board elects officers including president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer at the following board meeting in December.
We wish that we could convince all 269 homeowners to attend but understand that there are a lot of you that are too busy or just not interested in attending our meeting. Please consider filling in a Proxy form and mailing or faxing it to the HOA so we can meet the quorum requirements for the meeting. If you do attend we will return your Proxy form to you when you arrive.
If you have issues to bring up for discussion, there will be a time at the meeting for homeowner questions and comments. We have received a lot of great input from our fellow homeowners in the past and appreciate your comments. We are all proud to live in Shadow Ridge South and are dedicated to preserving the quality of our neighborhood. We look forward to seeing you on November 4th!

Neighborhood Directory Advertising Every year the HOA sends an updated Neighborhood Directory with names, addresses, phone numbers, and e-mail addresses of participating homeowners to all 269 homes in Shadow Ridge South. The printing and shipping costs for the directory are paid for through the sale of advertising to local businesses. The HOA does not provide a directory to advertisers as we do not want it to be a source of marketing contacts for them. You can purchase advertising space in our neighborhood directory at the rate of ½ page for $35, and a full page for $75 (a page measures 8½” x 11”). We think this is a bargain for local businesses since most homeowners use the directory for the entire year. Any advertising copy must be legible in black and white and submitted by November 20, 2009. Send either e-mail copy to manager@srshoa.org or hardcopy to P.O. BOX 271061, Flower Mound, TX, 75027-1061. Please send your payment to the P.O. Box. No ad will be run without receipt of payment. |

FMPD Home Inspection Service Saves Residents Money
The Flower Mound Police Department offers a free home inspection service that can help protect homes and provide savings on homeowners insurance premiums. Once a resident contacts the Police Department and schedules an appointment, a Flower Mound Police Officer will provide a complete security survey of the home. After all security criteria have been met, the Police Officer will then submit appropriate paperwork to the Department of Insurance, which could result in a reduction of up to 20 percent from homeowners’ insurance premiums. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call 972.874.3357.

HALLOWEEN SAFETY
Halloween brings many kids and families to the streets. Let’s help make Halloween a fun, safe, happy time. Here are a few helpful things to consider this season:
1. Please drive very slowly through the streets 2. Trick-or-Treat in a group 3. Please try to park cars in driveways and off the streets 4. Carry a flash light when walking at dusk or dark 5. Have kids wear or carry glow sticks or use reflective tape on shoes or costumes to be seen 6. Leave your porch light on if you are accepting trick-or-treaters. Trick-or-treaters should avoid homes with no porch light on 7. Please be sure your pets are on leashes 8. Be courteous and walk on sidewalks and not lawns 9. Remember to say “Thank You” |
